This brings back seriously bad memories... *shudder*
Might I suggest duct tape?

Not sure if Robin was kidding...but I actually did use duct tape on the twins' diapers for a while. They went through a phase where they would take off their diapers at nap time and then pee everywhere in their sleep. Duct tape was the only solution I could come up with that consistently worked. I called them "silver belts" and the kids thought it was great. Win-win.
ugh! I am so sorry! I used to joke about all parents needing a house with water-proof walls, plus a hot water hose and floor drain... in EVERY room... I still, sometimes, think it seems like a good idea. My daughter was pleased with her ability to de-diaper (soon after she was walking at 13-14mos), but I lucked out with no messes!! I solved it by bringing her to the training potty and simply asked her if she wanted to start wearing pants and using the potty, or wear diapers - her choice. She didn't want the potty, so the diaper stayed on.
You probably don't want to hear this, but what solved my daughter's artistic expressions with poo was getting her out of a crib and into a big girl bed. Evidently, it was a form of protest, because she never decorated her walls again. Too many other things to keep her busy in her bedroom, I guess! (We put a baby gate on her door.)
Love the idea of "silver belts". We were the backwards pjs people - just had to go a size up. We had the night of vomit last night. First J, then E and then G after she woke up. Scary part for me is that E did not wake up... Thinking of you while doing mass amounts of laundry. Big hugs.
Eeek. Usually I see a cute dimply baby butt like that and want to take a big squeeze or at least a nibble. Not feeling it today in light of the situation.
I never had to deal with a poo episode with my first, but my second, now 14 months, definitely has potential as a smearer. He's been able to get out of his diaper for ages, though for now putting clothes on him stops him. When we were in Brazil and he ran around my inlaw's house in just the diaper, all I can say is thank goodness the whole house had tile.

Oh yuck! So sorry Jill.

One of my friends puts her kids in zip-up pajamas -- and the pajamas on backward -- for just this reason.

Oh my goodness! I hope you made enough of an impression that he's not likely to do that again! So sorry.
Ugh! Kids are awesome right? Did you just start snapping photos to keep from crying?

We did the backwards PJ thing too.
Backward pjs here too, although I have to say duct tape sounds good too. Sorry that IS nasty.
We did backward pjs then I discovered some that actually buttoned in the back. I'll try to find my links on this subject too!
