I've also attached a few more random photos taken over the past few weeks around town.
Photos taken at the beach. The one on the left are the beachfront houses.
The one on the right is food that's being sold. Can't say I tried it...

On the left is one of the local gas stations. On the right is a hospital that I pass from time to time. Let's hope that I never see the inside here...

Oh Jill... When can I come for a visit? I am dying to lay out with all of the animals!
I strongly suggest everyone enlarging the pictures to see the details...quite honestly, this is what I imagined of India!
No wonder you didn't take the girls to your beach - Yuck!!!
Did you notice right in front of the gas station there is a car with "student driver" on the top...who would have thought anyone had lessons with what you had reported about the driving!!!
Amazing look at another part of the world; can't wait for the next installment!!!
Um, wow. What an experience. Very awesome.
You were right about the beaches being too polluted to hang out on. Wow. And those food vendors look like they're really selling trash! I wouldn't eat there, either. But glad you found a better beach!
I wonder what those beach side food vendors were selling. They look like they were rummaging through dumpsters. And then those goats. With birds perched right on their backs. AND then the store. With all those pots!! So, so interesting!
Goat pictures...wow. I don't remember seeing those in Hilton Head. :-) I don't think I would dare try the food from the vendors either.
The pots and pans are amazing! I bet I could spend hours there. I love looking at kitchen stuff.
I think you should definitely plan on staying healthy!
Beachfront property--location, location, location.
That's awesome that you're trying driving again. Is Matt driving also? I can imagine you wouldn't want to feel stranded when your driver's not available.
You look very natural driving. ;-)
Thanks for the pictures. What a fascinating glimpse of India. Take care.
thanks for your comment! Wow you guys are sure having quite the experience in India! I don't know if I could ever get used to driving on the opposite side of the road!
WOW. What a difference! But you look smoking hot in that car. :)
It's so interesting to get these snapshots of what you're seeing as you drive around. Thanks for the second-hand traveling experience.
Wow, that is fascinating! Scary but fascinating. All those animals at the beach and all the trash, bleh!
Loved all those piles of pots! Too funny. That must mean not many fast food restaurants!! ha ha
Ah yes. The ever elusive beach goats feasting on the day's catch. Goats will eat anything. That's hilarious. What fun pictures!! Oh, and could you be any cuter in the top picture?
Okay, so don't eat any of that food from that beach and surely you won't ever have to see the inside of that hospital. lol...
Wow SITSta! What an awesome experience you and your family are having! Great pics!
I think India looks a little rougher than Amman. Do you find you keep walking around to the wrong side of the car to get in?
It is really eye opening to see the pictures. I had this idea of India but it seems a bit more third world than I had pictured.
How do you not get totally homesick for the 'easy life'?
I love the picture! Have you ever driven on the right side of the car? On the left side of the road? Oh my, that coupled with Indian traffic, my prayers are with you! BTW, love the pics of the girls. You are so lucky to be near water. Poor me :)
You look adorable! And why do I want to go into that kitchen store and shop?!
Keep the photos coming - they are awesome!!
Good Lord that's a lot of pots!
I'm so excited you found my blog, and I found your blog! I'm adding you to my blog reader so I can keep tabs on your amazing adventure!
I knew you were brave before, but driving on the right side? In India? I am impressed beyond belief! I think I would be so scared!
I'm glad to be back--I missed you while I was away on vacation! :)

Love the pictures. You are an adventurous woman. I've already decided we're hiring a driver here!
What an amazing experience...looking at those photos however makes you appreciate life in the U.S. I can't wait to read about your upcoming adventures.
fascinating, honestly fascinating.
How much is the gas there? You do look lovely behind the wheel!
How are you smiling behind the wheel? Good grief woman, you are my hero. I love how adventuresome you are & the experiences your girls will have. Awesome.
That pot picture makes me long to travel again. I've been in so many stores that look like that. Awesome, the experiences, the photos, all of it.
Now THAT is what I expected of India.
That car really brings out the color of your eyes. Okay, I'm just kidding. Man, you're one hot mama!
I read a book that was set in India, and from what I see in your pics I wasn't too far off in what I had imagined it would look like. The book was Bombay Ice by Leslie Forbes. Great author.
Hiring a driver would be one of the very first things I'd do there.
Wow. I'm living vicariously through you......I'm adding you to my blogroll now so I don't miss a thing!
i'm still looking around ur blog. it's so fascinating.
ok...the pics here are, well, shocking a little. the animals on the beach...something i never thought i'd see. i can't believe how diverse the landscape and the people look...interesting. i'll be back for me!
