Money, Money, Money, Money.... MONEY!

Well the case of the missing bag has finally taken a turn for the positive. In the last 2 days both Lufthansa Airlines AND USAA have completed their paperwork and are sending me checks to cover the entire contents of my bag at 100% of their value.... to the tune of many thousands of dollars. Amazing? Perhaps. Am I excited? Abso-freakin-lutely!!!!

While the money doesn't remotely make up for the inconvenience of having to re-purchase everything in it, it sure does make it easier on the pocket book.

Can I just say that this totally makes up for my week of having diarrhea at a stranger's house, Sheridan getting extremely car sick, and Riley coming home from school early on Friday because she was "tired" (don't even ask...).

Yeah, totally.

Yay Jill! That is awesome.

My bag was lost last year on a trip to AZ, for a wedding. I had two AWESOME dresses and three pairs of AMAZING heels and it was gone. They reimbursed me 100% and three months later my bag arrived on my front door unannounced. With everything there.

So there is still hope.

Yeah for you!!! Are they going to reimburse you for the shipping costs of all the stuff you have to reorder?

Thanks for your suggestion on my post today ;) I've been thinking about that, but it's kinda hard to do that when he's been pissing me off. Oh, the sacrifices we have to make!!

I've been here before, but didn't realize you were living in India. I am beyond jealous. It is my life's dream to visit there. I'd really love to live there, but so far, no such luck. Can't wait to read more of your blog to learn about life in India.

BTW: I found you today over at Cheaper Than Therapy.

Have a great weekend!

Yippee for responsible airlines. Are those things that you can repurchase in India - or is internet shopping in the cards?

Because she was "tired?" I had to ask. Tired is the code word here for grumpy, pouty, and/or whiney.

I always feel like all my comments are endless questions ;-)

Wonderful news Jill! Can you make a profit if you re-purchase where you are and is that even possible?

ooo! Lots of luvverly shopping. Should I put my order in directly with the stores or would you like it sent to you?

Enjoy that cash. Sounds like you've earned it :)

HI!! OMG! That's great that they were able to pay you for the lost bag!! My BFF's bags were "lost" in Mexico...her WEDDING dress and gifts for the bridal party and other expensive stuff. But someone knew someone high up at the airport personally, and mysteriously the lost bags appeared. I don't know what was in your bag, but I think that if I lost my makeup or hair products, that would be the worst for me. Only Sephora.com knows the hundreds of dollars I have invested there!! lol... Then again, diarrhea at a strangers house might be worse :)

Hey - saw the picture of your new digs. My does that furniture look familiar:)! We are battling USAA over a claim - so glad you won yours!

So what is Chennai's name for "the Krud" as we call it here. Such a part of everyone's lives!!! So sorry but glad it is over for you.

Did you "pad" the bill? I hope! Good for the airline- I didn't know they would do that!

Don't you really wonder what happens to all those bags that get lost? I mean, is there some weirdo out there who has your bag, going through all your stuff. Ew, kinda creepy.

Oh, and my sister one time said she needed to go home because she was "tired." Turns out, she put her ABC gum in her pocket and was afraid she was going to get in trouble.

Now that is a happy ending to the story.

What wonderful news. That would make me super happy too. You never hear about someone getting full compensation for their lost items. I'm so happy for you.

USAA always comes thru - altho we haven't had to try for a lost bag (yet... the lost bags usually arrive before we make a claim.) Welcome to your new home!
