Today ... He Is

His birthday will forever be overly documented ... as it took FAR too long for him to get here.

But here he is now. At age THREE. In all his cuteness and glory. Keeping us laughing with the funny things he says. Like ... "Can I have some vezert" (dessert) ... "Hug me brudda" (brother) ... and "Take it easy man."

Tonight we will celebrate with a little cake and a lot of balloons. And break bread with our dearest friends from our tour in India who are here in DC for a few days.

Happy Birthday Little Man. We love you!

Though we'd love you even more if you'd begin to consider potty training ... just sayin!

Heck, I waited til our son was three--probably could have done it sooner, but he was pretty easy to live with.

By the time I had children, I had toilet-trained dozens of children and adults (with mental retardation, to boot) so two bright kids were no challenge. It was the one area of parenthood where I felt completely confident. I used 'Toilet-training in Less than a Day' (Azrin and Foxx)--and I recommend the 'readiness test' and their tips about clothing. I had enough experience that I tailored things to our children's needs; (no way could hyperactive Laura do ten repeats without a meltdown.) Our son was trained in about two hours. I'm assuming that book is still around; our son is 28 (and still trained!) LOL
