Yo Matt...Better Get Your Sleep On 'Cuz We're Heading Home And This Mamma Is Pooped!

We survived the first leg of our trip back home. It was only a 4 1/2 flight to D.C., and the girls can do that in their sleep. It's the next two flights that will test all of my patience (or lack thereof). I scheduled our itinerary to allow for long layovers, not because I enjoy sitting around airports while the girls find every disgusting thing to touch and smell, but rather so that we have enough time to lolly gag as we slowly make our way from one terminal to another.

We got up at o'dark thirty this morning and were met by the car service at 4:50 am. After zipping up the last of our 8 bags, 3 car seats, 1 stroller, and 4 carry-on bags, we were ready to head to the airport. A quick trip to LAX was followed up with an easy check-in, and an even easier move through security. A final Starbucks run, a little bagel action, and we were ready to get on the plane.

Right now we're sitting in the Red Carpet Club in Dulles, preparing to board our flight to Frankfurt. The girls are ridiculously hyper and have apparently left their listening ears back in LA. I'm not looking forward to these next 10 hours, and even less to our last 10 hour flight. We'll make it there, though it may not be very pretty. No, not very pretty at all.

Jill, you are almost there!! You must be so excited to see Matt and be at home again. The load of luggage is sure impressive. I bet you could pack in your sleep and you more than likely have done just that! Praying for you all to make it safe and healthy with your sanity intact~

Good luck. I'll be thinking of you. Personally, I know it would be ugly, I'm afraid the conditions would be perfect to just stretch my patience tooooo far. :-) I told you India would look good at the end of this. Take care.

Ick. I'm sorry - I have nothing comforting to say. You are braver than I am, in that my son happens to be 14 YEARS old and not like 14 days old. I hereby bestow upon you the "Crazy Momma of the Year Award"

Thinking at this point you should be in Frankfurt?

Do they have Starbucks in Frankfurt?

Sending lots of smooth travel vibes your way.

We head to the States in about 3 weeks, but at least I'll have Jay with me for the outgoing leg, I'll be bringing both kids back home by myself later. If it gets rough I'll just remind myself that it could be worse - I could have an infant with me too LOL.

Seriously, I hope all goes smoothly and you can soon hand off all three of them to Matt while you go straight to bed!

Oh my gosh. You deserve three days of solid sleep after that. Hope it all goes well and you arrive safely, if not with all your sanity. Good luck.

Pretty impressive picture !! lol I did that when I move back to France from Texas (people were looking at me like if I was crasy to have so much suitcases : I almost had to justify myself: we're not on vacations, we're moving .... lol)

Good luck with the trip ;-)

That is awful. My heart hit my feet for you when you said they closed the doors. I'm catching up after our little bit's arrival - so glad that you are feeling okay and I hope by now that you are all safely in your current home!
