Ok, it's been way too long since I've blogged. My apologies for the lag in photos and updates. Here's what's been happening since the end of June.
- We had more visitors! Matt's aunt Sandy, uncle Geoff, and cousins Melissa, Archie, Mo and Zoe came for a 10+ day guided tour of Israel. We had several opportunities to see them while they were here; in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and even at our home. The girls had an absolute ball hanging out with their cousins and were so thankful to make a solid connection. I didn't take any photos with my camera - so I'm patiently waiting for a few photos to be sent to me so I can post them here sometime soon.
- Another visitor stopped by last week. My sorority sister Sharon is in Israel with her husband and 3 kids. Except for a coincidental meeting at a Costco in Los Angeles a few years ago, I haven't seen Sharon since her wedding in 1998. Last Thursday we let the kids swim for an hour at the Red Center and then she came back to our house for a pizza dinner. What fun!
- The girls started summer camp! For the next 5 weeks they're attending daily from 9 am - 1 pm. They are enjoying spending every day with their friends doing art, playing outdoors, and swimming.
- I just found out that I have hypothyroidism - aka an under active thyroid. When I went in for my annual exam I also had my annual blood test (with a thyroid panel thrown in). I wasn't overly surprised when I received the results later that day (thyroid issues run in my family). I saw an endocrinologist a few days after I received my blood results, and after a thorough exam, he put me on thyroid medicine. Hopefully I'll be feeling my normal self in the next few months.
- I have bronchitis! I have been coughing... and coughing... and coughing.... and coughing some more for almost 3 weeks. After annoying everyone with my disgusting cough, I finally went to see a doctor who gave me much needed antibiotics. I've been on them for 3 days now and I'm just starting to feel better.
- The girls are now sharing a room! All of their girlfriends share rooms with their sisters - and they've been asking to share a room for a few months. We had to wait until Sheridan stopped crawling out of her bed at night before we could put them together. It's been 2 weeks now and aside from Sheridan talking a little too much once we turn off the lights, it's been an easy transition. Additionally, I turned Sheridan's old room into my craft room - though I haven't been able to enjoy it since I've been sick. Soon enough...
Here are a few photos. I'm still waiting for the 4th of July photos from a girlfriend. I'll hopefully post them in the next few days.
